THE COFFEE ACADEMÏCS PROMOTES HERITAGE CONSERVATION IN HONG KONG
The Hoover Cake Shop in Kowloon City is going to shut its doors after half a century of serving up tasty traditional treats. Since 1977, their egg tarts have been a crowd favorite. The founders, Mr. & Mrs. Chow have been putting their hearts into the business for many years, while their children don’t want to take over the bakery. So it will be officially closing its door on October 1st, 2022.
Ms Jennifer W.F. Liu, Founder and Chairwoman of The Coffee Academics International and granddaughter of the Chong Hing Bank founder, has always been enthusiastic about conserving Hong Kong's cultural heritage and traditional craftsmanship. Today, Jennifer signed the contract with the founders Chow family, officially confirmed to take over the Hoover Cake Shop. The rebranded "Hong Kong Hoover Cake Shop 1977" will be reopened next year in a new location, with a new look!
